Dario Vitale will be leaving Versace after one season at its helm, WWD is reporting. When the publication reached out for comment, the brand confirmed his departure. The news comes just days after Prada’s acquisition of the house , which they purchased from Capri Holdings for approximately $1.4 billion, was finalized. The move officially brings Versace back into the fold of Italian-owned luxury.
Vitale staged his first runway show at Milan Fashion Week during the spring/summer 2026 season, at the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana museum, which houses Caravaggio’s “Canestra di frutta.” The collection was met with intense buzz and excitement for its modern approach to deep-cut house codes, including OG Gianni Versace motifs and vintage Versus Versace silhoue
