JESSAMINE COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - The executive director of the Jessamine County Homeless Coalition, Johnny Templin, is spending his days and nights in an uninsulated deteriorating shack outside the Jessamine County Public Library, for five total days.
He said his goal is to raise awareness around homelessness and low-income housing in the county.
“I spend most of it right in here and it isn’t too much but yeah it’s internally 6 by 9,” Templin said.
Templin said the homeless problem in Jessamine County is larger than many realize.
“When you dig in a little deeper — the homeless problem grows very quickly. There’s over 500 children in the homeless program for the school system,” he said.
