GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - The father of a child found dead in a Greenville motel room a year ago pleaded guilty this morning.
Timothy Curry was originally charged with felony negligent child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury and involuntary manslaughter. In court this morning, Curry pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter.
Prosecutors say Curry’s six-year-old son had leukemia, and his parents failed to get him proper medical care. The child died on November 22, 2024, in a motel room at Knights Inn on Memorial Drive, where the father worked as a front desk clerk.
A judge sentenced Curry to serve between one year, four months, and two years, five months in prison.
The boy’s mother, Saunsiree Jefferson, is still awaiting her court date on the same charges.
