The University of Hawaii Rainbow Warriors will meet the California Golden Bears in the Dec. 24 Hawaii Bowl in a game filled with Hawaii connections.
The game will feature two left-handed freshman quarterbacks in UH’s Micah Alejado and Cal’s Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele and two former UH quarterbacks and teammates in coach Timmy Chang and Cal interim coach Nick Rolovich. Alejado is a redshirt freshman who grew up in Hawaii before playing high school at Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas. Sagapolutele is a true freshman who starred at Campbell High School.
The game is 3 p.m. at the Ching Complex.
Rolovich is expected to be the coach for the game, even though Oregon defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi has been reported to be the new Cal coach. Rolovich, a former UH coach, became Cal’s interim coach after
