ROCKLAND, Maine — The bus driver involved in the crash that killed a Rockland middle school student last month is no longer employed by RSU 13, Superintendent John McDonald confirmed Wednesday night.
"I can say tonight that the bus driver in question is no longer an RSU 13 employee as of Monday," McDonald said during a school board meeting .
The announcement comes as investigators continue reviewing the Nov. 21 crash that killed 12-year-old Brayden Callahan. Rockland police previously identified Jeffery Colburn as the driver of the bus that struck the boy. The Knox County District Attorney’s Office has said Colburn was placed on administrative leave following the crash and has been fully cooperating with the investigation.
