Even in the face of fan complaints, the new Call Of Duty is exactly where you’d expect in the PS5 sales charts, but that doesn’t tell the full story.

After 2024’s Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 managed to earn some goodwill back from fans, after the disastrous Modern Warfare 3, the franchise completely scuppered all that with the launch of this year’s Black Ops 7.

If you look at online reactions, Black Ops 7 has received a verbal thrashing for its awful campaign and intrusive use of AI generated content.

Disgruntled fans have made their feelings clear by review bombing the game on both Steam and Metacritic and yet despite all the backlash, Black Ops 7 still managed to become the top selling PlayStation 5 game of November.
