SC Dept. of Public Health announces changes to milk purchases for WIC recipients

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– SC Dept. of Public Health, announced that WIC will only pay for store brand milk or the lowest-cost milk.

Officials say starting on December 8, 2025, the change will begin.

The change applies only to milk, not infant formula.

Public Health officials say store brand milk has the same nutrition and quality as name brands, just at a lower price.
