Starbucks baristas from 26 stores in 23 U.S. cities, including four in New Jersey, planned to join the ongoing labor strike on Dec. 4, day 22 of the longest unfair labor practice strike in the coffee giant's history.
As detailed in a news release from Starbucks Workers United, baristas from several cities including Ledgewood, Parsippany, Pennington and Rockaway joined the strike on Thursday.
This move brings the total number of striking stores to more than 145 in over 105 cities, the union said. More than 3,000 baristas have joined the picket lines.
The movement, known as the "Red Cup Rebellion," began on Nov. 13 at several dozen Starbucks locations across 42 major cities, including New York City and Philadelphia.
