A DJ had a party to celebrate the launch of his new label cancelled at the last minute after the local council got involved. DJ Schak had planned to hold an intimate pop-up event at The Secret Tower in Newcastle on Wednesday night.
He released 80 tickets for the event, which aimed to celebrate the launch of his new label 33. However Newcastle City Council , who own the Grade I listed building on Tower Street, contacted the tenant and told them to pull the plug.
Schak, whose real name is Shakeil Luciano, was forced to apologise to fans for the cancellation. The 33-year-old, from North Shields , North Tyneside , said a block was put on the pop-up party due to "complaints from local residents".
