Musicians and staff with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra had to remain on their charter plane Thursday morning after a threat was received.

The orchestra was returning to Pittsburgh from a sold-out performance Wednesday evening at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Upon arrival at Pittsburgh International Airport, the group of 120 people was informed of a potential threat to the aircraft, a PSO spokeswoman said.

The orchestra provided the following statement:

“All passengers and crew are safe. We are grateful to the authorities for their swift response and professionalism.”

No other information has been released.
