Danica Patrick opened up about her past relationships, and she didn’t hide anything or feel embarrassed.

The former NASCAR and IndyCar driver has had much of her love life play out in public, and she says those experiences taught her some tough lessons. Now, she believes staying friends with exes only creates drama and confusion.

She talked about it on her podcast and said she wants to keep things simple for herself and for anyone she dates next. In her view, friendships with exes rarely work because someone usually still has feelings, and it also puts a new partner in an uncomfortable position.

Patrick admitted her approach might sound tough, but she feels happier and more at peace when she sets clear boundaries. She also said she loved the conversation, adding it on her Instagram.
