A local youth has earned a significant piece of recognition.

Ronin Theron of the 11 Lethbridge, Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron, has received the King Charles III Coronation Medal.

She received the honour from Major Krissy Donor, Officer Commanding, Southern Alberta Area, during a special ceremony at the Vimy Ridge Armoury on Nov. 15, 2025.

The medal is given to those who have made a significant contribution to Canada or to a particular province, territory, region, or community.

Doner says that Theron was nominated “for her commitment to the Cadet Program and the local community. Her volunteerism in various local activities, as well as her mentorship of fellow youth leaders, embodies the aims of the Cadet Program.”
