Thousands of magnetic building cubes sold under a popular brand name are being recalled due to risk of ingestion.
According to a recall notice from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission , the recall is for CreateOn Crayola-branded pip-Cubes, which are sold in bold color and glitter versions in sets of 24 or 27 cubes.
"The recalled magnetic building cubes contain magnets that can become loose if the seams separate, posing an ingestion hazard to children," the recall notice says. "When high-powered magnets are swallowed, the ingested magnets can attract to each other, or other metal objects, and become lodged in the digestive system. This can result in perforations, twisting, and/or blockage of the intestines, blood poisoning and death."
