The alignment of the stars — err, the moon — this year has created more logistical hurdles for the birthplace of Mardi Gras, specifically with the Conde Cavaliers and the Panini Senior Bowl, where current plans would have both groups colliding on Royal Street.

Lagniappe spoke with both organizations Thursday morning and confirmed that unless scheduling tweaks are made, hundreds of Cavaliers will be marching down Mobile’s key Mardi Gras runway while the city’s invitational bowl game participants will be marching up it.
