NORRISTOWN — An unhoused man must answer to charges in Montgomery County Court that he fatally beat another unhoused man whose body was found in a trash bin off the Schuylkill River Trail in Norristown.

Felix L. “Pinchone” Santos-Colon Jr., 46, waived his preliminary hearing on Thursday before District Court Judge Denise Ashe on charges of first- and third-degree murder and possessing an instrument of crime in connection with the alleged Nov. 4, 2025, beating death of 44-year-old Oscar Traviezo-Tercero. Due to Santos-Colon’s decision to waive the hearing, prosecutors did not have to present any testimony.

Santos-Colon now faces a Jan. 7, 2026, formal arraignment hearing on the charges in county court. After that hearing, a judge will set Santos-Colon’s trial date.
