The Spartan soldier Master Chief is Halo ' s best known character, with their signature voice and armor crafting one of gaming's most recognized protagonists. However, the first concepts for this hero of humanity weren't quite like the look fans would identify instantly now. In fact, co-creator Marcus Lehto has revealed how many different designs for Master Chief were considered when the first game was being made.

Marcus Lehto is an alumni of Bungie, the studio that created Halo: Combat Evolved , and was the person responsible for the design of the game's main character.
