NEWBURGH – A 19-year-old Newburgh man has been charged with arson and menacing as misdemeanors after he allegedly held a lighter under a Central Hudson vehicle.

Jerson Perez-Sanchez allegedly also menaced the worker with a stick.

He was arrested after the December 1 incident that took place before 2:30 p.m.

“The safety and well-being of our employees and communities is always our top priority,” Central Hudson spokesman Joe Jenkins said. The company is grateful that the employee was not harmed in the incident, he said.
