FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The legal battle continues over Prop 50 in California.
A conservative legal group called "The Public Interest Legal Foundation" has filed a lawsuit against the redrawn congressional map.
The group claims the map is racially discriminatory and drawn to preserve a specific number of Hispanic-majority districts, as well as two predominantly black districts.
They claim the map is a violation of the state's 15th Amendment and Voting Rights Act.
The group is asking the federal court to prevent Prop 50 from going into effect.
The proposition was approved by voters in November's special election.
It will temporarily redraw the congressional map to make five U.S. House seats more favorable for Democrats.
The proposition is also facing challenges from the Trump admin
