Elden Campbell sadly passed away at the age of 57 on December 1, and a cause of death has been made public.
The NBA superstar, who played from 1990 to 2005 primarily with the Los Angeles Lakers, passed away earlier in the week, and police are now explaining the reason.
According to Florida officials, Elden died due to accidental drowning, TMZ is reporting.
No further information has been provided as of yet.
His death was first confirmed by his former teammates, as well as various basketball organizations on social media.
“We mourn the loss of Elden Campbell , our all-time leading scorer, All-American and three-time All-ACC player, who passed away at the age of 57,” Clemson Basketball wrote.
