Residents in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) are advised to prepare for colder temperatures and snowfall in the coming days. The Weather Network's seven-day forecast indicates that temperatures will drop to -13° C overnight on Friday, with wind chill making it feel as cold as -18° C.

Environment Canada issued a snow squall advisory on Thursday afternoon for northern York Region and areas surrounding Lake Simcoe. The advisory warns that lake effect snow squalls from Georgian Bay will impact regions as far south as Aurora, extending east to Uxbridge and west to Alliston.

The advisory states, "The lake effect snow will be accompanied by northwesterly winds gusting 50 to 60 km/h. As a result, blowing snow will further reduce visibility." Conditions are expected to improve by Thursday evening.

In Toronto, temperatures are forecasted to gradually rise by Friday afternoon and into Saturday. However, a mix of wintry weather is anticipated to return on Sunday. Residents can expect light snow on Sunday afternoon, followed by colder temperatures and flurries in the evening and early Monday morning. The overnight low is projected to be -12° C, with wind chill making it feel like -18° C.

Monday is expected to be another chilly day, with temperatures only reaching -7° C and wind chill remaining in the double digits throughout the day. More snow is predicted for Tuesday and Wednesday, with temperatures in the area hovering around or just below the freezing mark. The rest of the week is expected to align more closely with seasonal averages.
