COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football’s Julian Sayin is the 2025 Big Ten Freshman of the Year.

He’s the 12th Buckeye to win the award and the second to do so in as many years (Jeremiah Smith, 2024).

The California native was announced as the winner Thursday after a successful first season as the Buckeyes’ starting quarterback.

Sayin led Ohio State to an undefeated regular season. He threw for 3,065 yards, 30 touchdowns and five interceptions.
