The Detroit Lions announced a few roster moves prior to their Week 14 game against the Dallas Cowboys. Most notably, they placed tight end Brock Wright on injured reserve.
Wright suffered a neck injury—later clarified by Dan Campbell as a trachea injury—in the team’s game against the New York Giants. Earlier this week, Campbell noted that it could be a long-term injury, but they were still doing tests and seeking extra opinions. It appears the news is bad, and at this point, it’s unlikely Wright plays again this season. He’ll be eligible to return in the team’s final regular-season game against the Chicago Bears.
That leaves Anthony Firkser, Ross Dwelley, and Hayden Rucci—added via waivers this week—to man the tight end position the rest of the year.
