(WFSB) - Cold temperatures pose dangers not just to humans, but to companion animals as well, according to local pet safety advocates.
Pet owners should limit their animals’ time outdoors, protect their paws and ensure they drink plenty of water, as pets can still become dehydrated in cold weather conditions.
Dog Star Rescue encourages people to use cold weather as an opportunity for increased bonding time with their pets.
“It’s definitely a heart warming time of year especially around the holidays share your life with a pet and be able to provide them with the comfort of a home and the other resources they might need,” said Hayley Fryer of Dog Star Rescue.
The organization reminds pet owners that assistance is available for those who need help caring for their animals during winter we
