Ritz cracker sandwiches have been an incredibly popular snack in the U.S. for decades. But if you or anyone in your family has an allergy to peanuts, you may want to check your cupboards. Because the maker of Ritz and the FDA have both issued recalls because some Ritz sandwiches labeled as cheese variety have been shipped with peanut butter.
Mondelēz Global, the maker of food brands like Ritz, Oreo, and Clif Bar, has released a statement warning consumers in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Missouri, New York, New Jersey, Oklahoma, and Pennsylvania to check any individual packages labeled as Ritz cheese crackers.
