The Arizona Supreme Court could potentially decide whether Santa Cruz County officials may be held liable for legal expenses that Audit USA incurred during a lawsuit over a public records request.
Audit USA, an elections watchdog organization led by John Brakey, filed a petition for review with the Arizona Supreme Court on Nov. 19, according to a court document. In its petition, Audit USA argues that the trial court erred in limiting the amount of attorney fees that Santa Cruz County was responsible for, county officials wrote in a memo. ×
