CNN anchor Kasie Hunt mocked Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) during her show "The Arena" on Thursday over the pushback he's receiving from women in the Republican Party.

Johnson has faced sustained criticism from his female colleagues over his leadership, according to recent reports. Some women like Reps. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) have publicly broken with the party on key issues, and Greene has called Republican men "weak."

Johnson appeared to make the situation worse last week when he appeared on the "Katie Miller Podcast," according to Hunt, after Johnson and his wife made comments about the differences between men and women.

"Men and women are different in this way, is that men can compartmentalize things," Johnson said.

"And men's brains are like waffles," Johnson's wife, Kelly Johnson, said. "Yes, they have little compartments. In fact, our brains are like spaghetti because it's the meatballs, the pasta, the sauce, the oregano. And we're thinking."

After playing the clip, Hunt appeared on screen, arms crossed, head held suspiciously.

"I can't imagine why women members of the Republican conference are concerned," Hunt said.
