Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau have travelled to Japan for an official engagement, where they met with the country's former Prime Minister.

Perry sported a conservative brown cropped jacket and miniskirt for the meeting.

"Former Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau came to Japan with his partner, Katy Perry, and had lunch with us," Fumio Kishida wrote via Instagram on Thursday.

"During my time as Prime Minister, I met Prime Ministers many times, and when I visited Canada, we worked together to strengthen bilateral relations, including formulating the Nikka Action Plan. I am glad that we are continuing this friendship.

"Canada is an extremely important partner to Japan in all areas of politics, security, economics, culture, et cetera," Kishida concluded. "We will continue to work hard for friendship and cooperation between Japan and Canada."

Perry and Trudeau were first linked in July on the heels of their respective splits. Justin divorced his ex-wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, in 2023, while Perry and actor Orlando Bloom called off their longtime engagement this summer.

Weeks later, in October, the pair were spotted holding hands in Paris on a date night for her birthday.

While neither Perry nor Trudeau has publicly addressed their relationship, the Hot N Cold singer briefly mentioned her love life during a recent concert in Prague.

"I am dating someone else for crying out f**king loud," she quipped.
