CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - A venue in downtown Cape Girardeau that was made famous by a Hollywood blockbuster will open its doors once again.

The Bar, which became popularized in the movie Gone Girl, is expected to reopen before Christmas.

New co-owner Lisa Armbruster bought the building in late October with her husband. She said they plan to preserve the Gone Girl image while also bringing in something new.

“We wanted it to be a place that’s clean, free of drama, good entertainment, and known for the best drinks in Cape,” Armbruster said. “I know we got some competition, I know we got some work. But it’ll be fun, it’ll be exciting, and we are definitely looking forward to the challenge.”

Armbruster said once opened, The Bar will have a piano with regular live entertainment, as well
