FESTUS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A High Ridge man was charged Wednesday after police say he stole an elderly woman’s car after helping her pump gas.
Jefferson County Prosecutors charged Janus A. Hoffman of High Ridge with vehicle hijacking causing serious physical injury, first-degree assault, DWI causing serious physical injury and two counts of armed criminal action. Hoffman is being held at the Jefferson County Jail without bond.
According to the Festus Police Department, they were called to Murphy’s Gas Station in Festus on Tuesday for a vehicle theft. At the scene, they found a 75-year-old woman whose vehicle had been stolen.
