RED SPRINGS — Thanks in large part of 47 points from senior guard Khalif Brown, the Red Springs Red Devils boys basketball team defeated its county foe, the St. Pauls Bulldogs, 66-48. Brown was the story in this game, nearly outscoring St. Pauls on his own and turning in a signature performance.

“I just kept putting up shots,” Brown said.

Red Springs (2-2) started the game hot, claiming a 15-3 lead with 3:30 left in the first. From there, St. Pauls (0-3) ended the first quarter scoring 10 of the last 19 points to trail 24-13 at the end of the first quarter.

The Red Devils got off to a 6-0 run to lead 30-13 with seven minutes left in the first half. From there, they used a 10-7 stretch to extend their lead to 40-20 with 2:30 left. Finally, the Bulldogs ended the half on a 10-4 run to go
