CBS 58

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The 16th Street bridge is to be immediately closed as an inspection conducted Thursday, Dec. 4, shows it requires evaluation and possible repairs.

Part of the northern part of 16th St. viaduct over the Menomonee River was already closed and due to bridge element inspected today being on the southern part of the viaduct, the entire bridge will be closed.

The closure will be implemented at 16th St. and Pierce St. and at the bottom of the viaduct ramp.

Pierce Street will be accessible to traffic.

It is expected to be closed by the morning rush hour on Friday, Dec. 5.
