LOS ANGELES — Tayden Tomblin, a 17-year-old from California, is changing lives after his sudden death.
The Santa Barbara native suffered a fatal head injury while skateboarding in the Los Angeles area on a Thanksgiving trip.
He did not regain consciousness or brain function and his family donated his organs at his request, according to an online fundraiser asking for support to his family. Tomblin's heart, liver, pancreas, lungs and kidneys were recovered and donated.
"It is a profound honor to share that Tayden will be able to bring hope and healing to seven recipients," his father Tyler Tomblin wrote on the fundraiser page.
The family wants to establish a nonprofit called "Non-Negotiable" in his honor, focusing on "helmet education and providing helmets to youth," according to the
