WYLIE, Texas — A North Texas middle school student was arrested Thursday after allegedly making threats and lunging toward a school resource officer's gun, officials say.

A school resource officer at Wylie ISD's McMillan Jr. High School was called to an administrator's office to investigate an alleged threat made by a student at about 2 p.m. Thursday, according to Wylie Police.

The student continued to make verbal threats toward the administrator and lunged toward the resource officer's gun to gain access, police say.

The 12-year-old student was restrained and taken into custody on complaints of terroristic threat causing fear of imminent serious bodily injury and taking or attempting to take a weapon from a peace officer, according to police. The student was not identified because of t
