CHEYENNE — A Laramie County Circuit Court judge set a $500,000 cash or surety bond Thursday for a Cheyenne man charged with two counts of attempted vehicular manslaughter.

The 64-year-old Cheyenne resident, Calvin Alexander, was arrested Monday on four felony and three misdemeanor charges after allegedly driving under the influence, evading law enforcement and using his Kia Soul to pin Deputy Jason Grover to a sheriff’s vehicle, injuring him and making him fear for his life.

Based on the severity of the crime and Alexander’s criminal history, the state’s attorney recommended that Alexander’s bond be set at $500,000, cash only.

Magistrate Chris Humphrey set Alexander’s bond at the recommended amount, cash or surety, meaning he can post bond with the assistance of a bond/surety company.
