WILKES COUNTY, N.C. — Speedway Children’s Charities’ North Wilkesboro chapter distributed more than $200,000 to 14 nonprofits Thursday during its annual Night of Joy Celebration, capping a year of fundraising to support children and families across Wilkes County.
Nearly 200 people, including grant recipients, families, supporters and Santa and Mrs. Claus, gathered at North Wilkesboro Speedway for the event, which featured holiday activities and ride-along around the historic track.
The celebration marked another year of growth for the chapter, which has expanded its community reach since the track’s revitalization.
The chapter raised money through several major events, including the 50/50 raffle at the sold-out NASCAR All-Star Race, the Window World Bootleggers Cup Golf Tournament, the
