Samuel Brown’s winding career at Rutgers has come to a close.

The backup running back is transferring out of Piscataway after four seasons with the Scarlet Knights , he announced Thursday. The Pennsylvania native has one more year of eligibility remaining.

Brown is the third Scarlet Knight to share their intention of entering the transfer portal when it opens on January 2, following fellow running back CJ Campbell and kick returner Dane Pardridge.

Brown ends his time at Rutgers with 829 yards and eight touchdowns on 205 carries, as well as 80 yards and a touchdown on seven catches, across 441 snaps.

A four-star recruit out of La Salle College high school, Brown burst onto the scene as a true freshman during the 2022 season, rushing for 374 yards and three touchdowns in 86 carries
