CLEVELAND, Ohio— A former Cleveland immigration judge has sued over her firing during a Trump administration purge of judges.

Tania Nemer accused the U.S. Department of Justice of violating her civil rights and discriminating against her because of her Democrat political affiliation.

One of her attorneys, James Eisenmann, wrote in the lawsuit filed this week in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., that the administration violates civil service laws by classifying judges as at-will employees.
