MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Dane County residents presented the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) with questions during a Thursday meeting on the Beltline’s long-term study.
WisDOT heard directly from drivers and neighbors during the public meeting as the agency outlined its draft Planning and Environment Linkages (PEL) Study for the Madison Beltline. The long-term study covers about 20 miles of US 12/14/18/151, from Middleton to Cottage Grove, and examines safety, operations, multimodal travel and future environmental review.
The PEL also identifies a Preferred Strategy Package, a list of possible improvements the department believes warrant deeper evaluation in federal environmental studies. During the presentation, WisDOT said the study aims to: “improve safety and multim
