SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers once again struggled to turn their scoring chances into goals during a 2-1 overtime loss to the Nashville Predators at Amerant Bank Arena on Thursday.

“I think there was offense to be had by both teams,” head coach Paul Maurice said. “Both team’s penalty kills were really good. A 1-1 game at the end because the goalies are good.”

Falling to 12-12-2, the back-to-back Stanley Cup champions have lost four straight games.

In that stretch, they’ve scored seven goals despite generating 16.05 expected goals, per NaturalStatTrick.com.

While the tide should turn eventually, it doesn’t make the waiting any easier for players.

“We’ll take it,” forward Carter Verhaeghe said of picking up a point. “Hopefully it’ll lead to something a little better.”
