A rock star, whose band opened for Oasis and was dubbed the 'new Beatles' has died at the age of 40.

Former teen rock star Justin Baren has died at the age of 40, his dad Martin Baren revealed. Baren, a founding member of the Chicago group The Redwalls, died peacefully on November 28.

The Redwalls opened for Oasis in gigs held in the UK and US in 2005. The band supported Oasis at a gig held at the City of Manchester Stadium, now the Etihad.
