Britain's happiest place to live has been named and it's under two hours away from Merseyside. The beautiful market town of Skipton, located in North Yorkshire, has today (December 5) been crowned the happiest place to live in 2025. With a well-preserved medieval castle overlooking its centre, Skipton is surrounded by scenic views and is a gateway to the Yorkshire Dales.

Its attractions include a traditional high street marketplace, a shopping arcade, a museum, and an array of independent shops. Tourists and locals can pop into one of its many pubs or stop off for a cup of tea at one of the cafes along its cobbled streets and canal paths.
