A Suffolk football club is apologising to fans after floodlight failures forced the abandonment of two games.

Woodbridge Town FC's Eastern Counties Premier League games against Haverhill Rovers and Heacham were cut short after the lights went out "unexpectedly" in the second half and the club is investigating the cause of the issues and working with contractors to rectify them.

In a statement on the club's page on social media site Facebook, Paul Leech, Woodbridge Town's chair, said the lights were used successfully during an under-18s match on November 27 and at the time "there were no indications of any issues."

However, two days later, on Saturday, November 29, the game against Haverhill Rovers was stopped with the visitors leading 2-1.
