Two police officers showed 'unwavering courage' as they ran towards people wielding gardening forks, baseball bats, and timber during a city centre protest.

'Selfless' PCs Bethany Cottrell and Natalie Millward managed to physically disarm the individuals, and 'sacrificed their own safety to protect others'.

The Staffordshire Police officers were on duty on August 3 last year when a protest taking place in Hanley city centre quickly became volatile.
