The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a deadly crash on Friday morning on Florida's Turnpike in Broward County.

FHP said it happened in the southbound lanes at Mile Marker 55, where it meets Interstate 595. All lanes except one were blocked.

Video of the scene shows a crumpled white vehicle that appears to be missing its back half. Up ahead, a FedEx truck is pulled over in the emergency lanes, and it appears to have part of the vehicle stuck to its front end.

Authorities did not immediately say what caused the crash or who had died.

Traffic cameras also showed major congestion as drivers attempts to merge onto the one open lane.
