ST PAUL, Minn. — One man is dead after a shooting Thursday night in the Payne-Phalen neighborhood of St. Paul.

St. Paul Police are investigating after the shooting, which took place around 9:15 p.m. on the 900 block of Edgerton Street.

In a post on X, police said squads responded to a report of shots fired and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso. Officers attempted lifesaving measures until paramedics arrived to transport the victim to Regions Hospital, where he died soon after.

Homicide investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and locate those responsible. The Forensic Services Unit will be processing the scene for evidence.
