(Baltimore, MD) — New data shows South Dakota has the highest increase of home-schooled kids in the nation. A Johns Hopkins University database reveals the state’s home-schooling rate rose 143-percent over an eight-year period. As of 2024, South Dakota had more than ten-thousand students who were home-schooled. Tennessee had the next highest increase followed by North Dakota.
