PORT ARTHUR, Texas — Two people were found shot Thursday night in Port Arthur after officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 3400 block of 9th Street, according to Police Chief Tim Duriso.
The shooting happened around 10 p.m., and both victims were taken to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital. They are now in stable condition.
Neighbors told 12News they heard “a disturbance followed by multiple gunshots” just moments before officers arrived.
Police found a handgun at the scene and have identified one suspect who remained on site and cooperated with investigators. The suspect has not been arrested.
According to the chief, the incident began with an argument at the location. The chief said he is unaware of any prior complaints at the address.
