Meghan Markle 's father previously made a heartbreaking statement about his funeral prior to his recent health battle. Thomas Markle, 81, is currently in a "stable" condition after undergoing surgery at a hospital in the Philippines after falling ill at his home.

After being taken to the hospital, he underwent a three-hour operation on Wednesday to remove his left foot and lower leg after a circulation issue turned the limb black and blue. Giving recent updates on his dad's condition, his son Thomas Markle Jr said: "It happened very quickly. I took him to a local hospital, and they did some scans and an ultrasound and said the leg had to be amputated."
