U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents have ramped up immigration arrests in the Syracuse area since the summer, according to new data released this week.
ICE officers arrested at least 162 people in Onondaga County in the first 10 months of President Donald Trump’s second term, according to data released by ICE and processed by the Deportation Data Project, a group of lawyers and researchers.
Nearly 100 of those arrests were in August, September and October, the records show.
For comparison, ICE arrested 56 people in Onondaga County in all of 2024 and just 28 people in 2023, records show.
