OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The Omaha Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing Friday morning at the Siena Francis House.

Officers were called to the homeless shelter near 17th and Nicholas streets in downtown Omaha shortly before 8 a.m. Friday.

First Alert 6 observed people filing out of a building and gathering across the street. They then went back inside before they left a second time in larger amounts. Many of them were seeking shelter in a second building on the property.

Medics were on the scene and crime tape was put up around the front of the building. Police tell us two people were taken to a hospital with injuries believed to be minor. One of them was stabbed.
